Rub-a-dub-dub, two little girls in a tub
11 Sep
If you were fortunate enough to grow up along a beautiful creek in these Ozark Mountains and if you had no neighbors close by – and no indoor plumbing, then imagination and resourcefulness served you well. When Spring/Summer rains came and the creek was “flooded”, the two little girls took an oblong wash tub (the same one used for bathing – in the kitchen – by the warm wood stove during the winter) and went on float trips! In spite of the fact that oblong tubs weren’t designed for this use, it was a fine canoe. With this fond remembrance, we have made a light fixture out of the oblong wash tub. It hangs – waiting to be embellished with a few grapevines and an assortment of twigs – in the new addition at D&O. We love it!
